Subject: Billing Dispute and Request for Correction
To the Billing Department,
I am writing to dispute a billing charge that appears on my account statement dated 06/02/2025. The statement includes a charge of $214.97 labeled as an "additional service fee" for the billing period of 05/01/2025 through 05/31/2025.
I reviewed the statement and my account history and I cannot identify any service change, authorization, or event that would reasonably generate this charge. My plan and usage for the period remained consistent with prior months, and the fee was not disclosed in advance.
I contacted customer support on 06/04/2025 to request clarification. I was told the fee was "system generated" and that no further detail was available. That response is not sufficient to validate the charge.
This letter is a formal request that you review the charge and correct my account. If the charge is valid, I am requesting a written explanation that identifies the specific basis for the fee, including the service category, the date it was applied, and the policy or pricing term that authorizes it.
If the charge is not valid, I am requesting removal of the fee and confirmation that my account balance has been updated to reflect the correction. I am also requesting that any negative reporting, late fees, or collection activity related to this disputed amount be paused while the review is pending.
I am not disputing the overall account or the recurring monthly service charge. This dispute is limited to the single additional fee described above.
Please respond in writing with the outcome of your review. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
